Department Overview:

The Nuclear Enterprise Division (N130) is in search of a Division Operations Lead (DOL) to enhance our efforts. Collaborating with MITRE's Joint and Services divisions, we focus on advancing the United States' nuclear deterrent capabilities. Our division thrives on teamwork and innovation, taking calculated risks to deliver impactful technical solutions. The Nuclear Enterprise work program offers data-driven modernization recommendations and analyses that facilitate the effective modernization of Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) and Nuclear Weapon Systems. The DOL will be a strategic partner to the Managing Director and Division Chief Engineer, working closely with various stakeholders to successfully implement the N130 strategy and achieve key outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the leadership team to formulate and execute the division strategy, manage the work program, and oversee financial and operational activities.
  • Engage with senior leadership to define and refine the division strategy.
  • Implement the division operating plan to support the execution of N130's work program.
  • Foster an inclusive work environment within N130.
  • Assist the Division Chief Engineer in managing Capstone, Capability Funds, and Program Development proposals.
  • Act as a communication conduit to ensure consistent messaging across the team.
  • Engage with key sponsors to manage relationships and shape the division's work program.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years with a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Two years of leadership experience in project or personnel management.
  • Experience collaborating with the Federal Government, particularly the Department of Defense.
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Highly organized with a track record of cross-functional collaboration.
  • This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance and access to classified infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with Air and Space Force operations.
  • Experience with the Objectives and Key Results (OKR) framework.
  • Understanding of the Nuclear domain and associated challenges.
  • Knowledge of MITRE's business and operational cycles.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting experience.
  • Technical understanding in areas such as Communications, Systems Engineering, or Cyber Resiliency.
  • Professionalism in interactions with senior leadership.
