Position Overview

The HR Operations Leader is accountable for the comprehensive human resources function, encompassing talent acquisition, onboarding and offboarding processes, employee engagement, retention strategies, adherence to federal and state regulations, compensation and benefits management, workplace safety, record-keeping, and the formulation of employee policies and procedures. This role involves directly overseeing a team of seven HR specialists, emphasizing their output, performance, potential, and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of six associates, guiding them in their daily tasks and project management while fulfilling other supervisory duties.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant federal and multi-state employment regulations.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with vendor partners.
  • Devise recruitment strategies to attract talent from both internal and external sources.
  • Oversee existing programs aimed at onboarding, retaining, and offboarding personnel.
  • Advise and coach the Leadership Team on employment law, organizational policies, talent management, and performance documentation.
  • Support leadership in executing effective Workforce & Salary Planning and Management processes.
  • Champion culture and engagement initiatives within the organization.
  • Design and implement the company’s learning and development strategy.
  • Manage internal communication strategies for employees.
  • Oversee HR-related technologies such as Sage HRMS, bswift Benefit Administration, and ADP Workforce Now Payroll.
  • Prepare monthly operational reports detailing headcount, progress on key priorities, and trends in recruitment and retention.
  • Design and manage benefit and compensation programs to ensure compliance and equity while staying informed of industry trends.
  • Maintain and update company policies, processes, and practices as necessary.
  • Conduct investigations related to potential legal or policy violations, as well as unethical behavior.
  • Represent the organization in workers' compensation claims, unemployment claims, and legal matters.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Five to seven years of experience in a similar role, including up to two years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Preferred current SHRM or HRCI certification.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with various stakeholders in person, remotely, and in writing.
  • Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Exhibit sound judgment, confidentiality, discretion, and high integrity while navigating complex and sensitive issues.
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching others collaboratively.
  • Proficient in HR systems with a quick learning ability.
