About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Onsite Behavioral Health Specialist to join our team at Optum. As an Onsite EAP Counselor, you will play a critical role in providing confidential and professional support to our employees, helping them navigate personal and professional challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Consultation and Assessment: Conduct solution-focused consultations to help clients define goals, plan action, and gain insight into their personal and professional challenges.
  • Referral and Case Management: Assess and refer employees to appropriate programs and services, including behavioral health, substance abuse, and community-based resources.
  • Manager Consultation: Provide consultation services to managers on workplace and organizational issues, including performance management, trauma, and organizational change.
  • Crisis Intervention and Management: Provide crisis intervention and management support in response to critical incidents.
  • Training and Education: Conduct on-site training services for managers and employees on topics such as wellness, health fairs, and lunch and learns.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Utilize UHG computer systems to accurately and thoroughly document member contact and case management activities.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's or Doctoral degree in a recognized behavioral health discipline.
  • License: Current, unrestricted license at the independent practice level.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in a behavioral health setting.
  • Skills: Ability to work onsite as needed, proficiency in MS Office applications, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
