About the Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Ice Skating Program Assistant to support our Ice Skating Instructors at lessons at our indoor facility. The ideal candidate will have a passion for ice skating and a strong ability to work with youth and adults in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend scheduled programs consistently and provide excellent customer service to participants.
  • Serve as a role model and mentor for program participants, promoting a positive and inclusive environment.
  • Assist instructors with setting up and breaking down games, equipment, and signage.
  • Help set up skate school signs and name tags to ensure a smooth and organized program.
  • Assist tots or small children with their first-time ice experiences, providing a safe and supportive environment.
  • Participate in and occasionally lead games and activities, promoting physical activity and fun.
  • Perform special duties as assigned, including running music and helping with skating shows.
Requirements
  • Must have experience and ability to skate on indoor ice.
  • Ability to lead games or programs and work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with children and youth in a recreational or educational setting.
  • Coaching or instructing experience, particularly in ice skating or a related field.
  • Demonstrated cultural competence and comfort with supporting the city's strategic objectives for advancing racial equity.
