Job Summary

R.J. Corman Railroad Group, LLC is seeking a highly skilled and safety-minded Locomotive Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our trains.

Key Responsibilities
  • Train Operations: Assist in all phases of the safe daily operation of trains, including operating equipment according to company policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Equipment Management: Will operate track switches, couple cars, and work on trains in yard operations, as well as move and align various parts of rail equipment to create or build trains.
  • Customer Service: Work with customers to ensure accurate movement and placement of cars, and provide excellent customer service to meet their needs.
  • Conductor Duties: Increasing responsibilities expected and required, including the ability to handle Conductor duties.
  • Teamwork: Develop teamwork and work with all levels of personnel in achieving train-handling objectives.
Requirements
  • Safety Mindset: Must be safety-minded and have basic reading and math skills.
  • Physical Demands: Able to perform physical strenuous work, including constant standing, walking, climbing stairs and ladders, and balancing in a safe manner.
  • Physical Abilities: Able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 80lbs, push and pull with up to 150lbs of force, and perform duties in primarily outside environments.
  • Background Check: Must be able to successfully pass background, drug test, and physical capacity test.
