Comcast Spectacor manages the Wells Fargo Center and its significant transformation project, along with the Philadelphia Flyers, the Philadelphia Wings lacrosse team, the Maine Mariners hockey team, the Flyers Training Center, the Seoul Infernos OWL team, and Spectacor Events and Entertainment, a rapidly expanding live events company that has successfully introduced new events to the Philadelphia region.
The WFC, recognized as the 4th most attended arena in the U.S. and 7th globally, hosts over 270 events annually, including games for the Philadelphia Flyers, Philadelphia 76ers, Philadelphia Wings, Villanova, concerts, and various events.
As a wholly owned subsidiary of Comcast, Comcast Spectacor operates both connected and disconnected networks within the Wells Fargo Center.
Position SummaryIn this role, you will adhere to established protocols and undertake detailed accounting tasks that necessitate a fundamental understanding of accounting principles and theories. Your work will be subject to general oversight and will be conducted under the guidance of senior accounting staff.
Responsibilities include providing specialized or general analytical support across various accounting functions such as Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Cost Accounting, Property Accounting, and General Accounting.
You will review and assess journal entries, accounting classifications, and other financial statements, records, and reports.Key Responsibilities
- Prepare adjustments and closing entries, generate profit and loss statements, manage inventory, receipts, disbursements, and balance sheets, and calculate labor, material, and overhead costs.
- Prepare calculations and payments for the organization. Maintain documentation for prepaid and accrual accounts, and enter monthly journal entries. Assist with both internal and external audit processes as required.
- Support senior accountants with various accounting tasks.
- Ensure accuracy in balance sheet accounts.
- Enter monthly journal entries to accurately reflect accounting transactions.
- Analyze financial statements for operational trends and outcomes.
- Calculate payments to regulatory bodies as directed by the Manager.
- Maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Availability for nights, weekends, variable schedules, and overtime may be necessary.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
You will primarily focus on the accounting aspects of Retail Operations.
This includes:
- Posting daily revenues and costs of goods sold from retail systems (both physical stores and e-commerce) into the ERP system (Netsuite).
- Managing vendor relationships and setups.
- Settling accounts with merchandise vendors post-events.
- Calculating and distributing commissions and tips for retail staff.
- Conducting inventory reconciliations.
- Assisting with forecasts and expense management.
