Position Overview


We are seeking a Resident Care Specialist to enhance our operations in the northeast region, specifically in the areas of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia.

This corporate role is designed to support or temporarily fill the position of the Director of Health and Wellness (DHW) at our communities.

The Resident Care Specialist will oversee the functioning of the Resident Care Department, ensuring compliance with clinical, regulatory, and financial standards.

Additionally, this role may involve assisting in the recruitment and training of DHWs and providing regional oversight for Resident Care Departments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to existing policies and procedures, reflecting compliance with corporate and regulatory guidelines.
  • Assess and enhance compliance with resident rights policies and address resident concerns effectively.
  • Conduct compliance evaluations at various communities and assist in developing action plans to mitigate risks identified during surveys.
  • Engage in State and Federal surveys and compliance investigations.
  • Support and monitor the progress of corrective action plans.
  • Analyze performance metrics and survey data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Provide training and orientation to community staff regarding compliance, risk management, and performance enhancement.
  • Assist the Regional Director in auditing care assessments for accuracy and compliance.
  • Participate in the selection process for community DHWs.
  • Maintain awareness of state regulations and monitor changes that may impact operations.
  • Champion the company culture in all interactions.
  • Facilitate partnerships with external vendors as necessary.
  • Provide clinical expertise and education to support the DHW role.
  • Exhibit proficiency in relevant software and ensure timely reporting of information.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Demonstrate respect and compassion in all interactions.
  • Uphold the highest standards of honesty and integrity.
  • Show a genuine passion for caregiving through interactions with residents, families, and colleagues.
  • May serve as an interim DHW when required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and support to community administrators and DHW staff to ensure high-quality care delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse with Multistate Compact Licensure is required.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance across multiple states is essential.
  • Experience in assisted living settings is mandatory.
  • Five to ten years of nursing experience is required.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in good standing.
  • Three to five years of management experience in nursing is preferred.
  • Recent experience in roles such as Director of Wellness, Director of Clinical Services, or Director of Nursing in Assisted Living is necessary.
