Position: Accounting Specialist
Department: Finance
Reports To: Senior Accounting Manager
The Accounting Specialist will oversee daily financial operations and manage the processing of payroll on a bi-monthly basis. This role will collaborate closely with the Finance team, Human Resources, and other departments. The Accounting Specialist will report directly to the Senior Accounting Manager and will also engage with the Chief Financial Officer.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitate weekly payment runs and initiate transactions to vendors and staff.
- Document accounts receivable collections and other cash inflows.
- Administer the corporate credit card program and manage employee expense claims.
- Prepare and record journal entries, including but not limited to fixed assets, prepayments, accruals, and reclassifications.
- Assist with Tax ID Registration for new state and local registrations.
- Process bi-monthly payroll in collaboration with the HR Manager.
- Support the HR Manager in resolving payroll-related inquiries.
- Verify and log vendor invoices, ensuring that reimbursable expenses are billed to clients.
- Maintain the general ledger alongside the Senior Accounting Manager.
- Compile and reconcile monthly financial statements.
- Contribute to financial audits.
- Assist the Senior Accounting Manager and CFO with special projects as needed.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Familiarity with payroll processing is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of financial and cost accounting principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Capacity to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
