Job Summary

Purdue University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Extension Educator or Senior Extension Educator. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in creating innovative learning opportunities that address local issues and improve the quality of life for current and future residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify critically important issues and develop effective approaches to plan, deliver, and evaluate programming.
  • Work with state and local advisory committees to identify opportunities for collaboration and partnership.
  • Develop and implement educational programs that promote science, citizenship, and healthy living, with a focus on 4-H Youth Development.
  • Recruit, train, and develop volunteer leaders to support the mission of Purdue Extension.
  • Establish and maintain effective communications and working relationships with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders within the community.
  • Quantify, communicate, and promote the value of Extension education to key stakeholders, partners, and decision-makers.
  • Develop and cultivate external funding sources to enhance educational programming.
  • Participate in and/or lead teams to enhance the scope and reach of Extension programming.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in educational program development, delivery, and evaluation, with related experience in youth development, volunteerism, and organizational systems.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, including prioritizing workloads to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge and skill with computer technology in preparing and making reports, presentations, data analysis, and retrieval, email, and internet applications.
  • Knowledge of basic educational methods and the ability to effectively communicate/teach program-specific material.
  • Ability to work with diverse audiences and stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, leadership, mentoring, teamwork, and group process skills.
  • Flexibility and creativity in the workplace.
  • Valid U.S. or Canadian driver's license.
