Space Systems Integration Engineer
Overview:
- The Space Systems Integration Engineer role focuses on providing comprehensive systems and integration engineering support for advanced space sensing initiatives. The mission is to ensure robust space awareness capabilities that enhance defense and operational effectiveness across various domains.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver systems engineering expertise in the development and execution of resilient space sensing frameworks, ensuring alignment with technical specifications and contractual obligations.
- Facilitate technical acquisition processes and program planning, assessing compliance with relevant documentation, including System Engineering Plans and Integrated Master Schedules.
- Evaluate acquisition strategies and capability documents to ensure they are accurately represented in the technical aspects of the programs.
- Conduct thorough analyses of space and ground system program plans, ensuring adherence to applicable Department of Defense guidelines and instructions.
- Verify that all contract technical requirements are met for space, payload, and ground hardware.
- Provide specialized knowledge in ground systems integration, networking, and software development for space sensing projects.
- Actively participate in formal program reviews and contribute to the leadership's understanding of project status and challenges.
- Document findings from testing phases and integrate lessons learned into future development criteria.
Essential Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Secret clearance (TS/SCI preferred).
- Experience in a Systems Engineering & Technical Assistance (SETA) role, particularly in support of Department of Defense projects.
- Proven background in front-end systems engineering related to space and satellite technologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
- At least 5 years of technical experience with Major Command level organizations, including familiarity with requirements generation and budget execution processes.
- Technical proficiency in ground systems integration, networking, and software is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Space Systems Command procedures is a plus.
