Summary:
  • The Space Systems Integration Engineer role focuses on providing comprehensive systems and integration engineering support for advanced space sensing initiatives. The mission is to ensure continuous space situational awareness across multiple domains to enhance defense capabilities. Key areas of focus include resilient missile detection, tracking, and defense, as well as innovative technology development and environmental monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver systems engineering assistance in the development of resilient space sensing frameworks, acquisition documentation, technology demonstrations, and product creation to meet contractual technical specifications.
  • Offer technical acquisition and program planning expertise in reviewing space sensing program solicitation documents, System Engineering Plans, Integrated Master Plans, Integrated Master Schedules, and contract deliverables for adherence to Department of Defense and Space Systems Command policies.
  • Evaluate whether acquisition strategies, capability documents, and solicitation materials accurately reflect the technical requirements as outlined in the system engineering plans and compliance standards.
  • Analyze program plans, ongoing development, testing and evaluation, upgrades, operations, and sustainment in accordance with applicable Department of Defense and Space Systems Command guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with technical requirements for space, payload, and ground systems.
  • Provide specialized knowledge in ground systems integration, networking, and software related to space sensing initiatives.
  • Engage in formal program evaluations and reviews.
  • Communicate findings and updates to leadership and assist in preparing briefings for higher management.
  • Document post-evaluation analyses and lessons learned, applying insights to enhance future developmental testing criteria.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Possession of a minimum Secret clearance (TS/SCI preferred).
  • Experience in a Systems Engineering & Technical Assistance (SETA) role, particularly in support of a Department of Defense customer or space acquisition.
  • Background in initial systems engineering, particularly in requirements generation related to space and satellite systems.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • At least 5 years of technical or engineering experience with Major Command level organizations, including knowledge of requirements generation and program planning.
  • Technical proficiency in ground systems integration, networking, and/or software is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Space Systems Command procedures is advantageous.
