SAIC is in search of a seasoned Lead Space Systems Engineer to contribute to the Space Systems Command's Space Domain Awareness and Combat Power initiatives. This role involves significant responsibilities in overseeing the development and integration of advanced space systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Directs the creation of technical requirements and systems engineering processes while supervising contractors in the design, production, integration, and testing of space systems.
- Manages payload integration and oversees interface control processes.
- Conducts system integration across various projects to ensure the seamless operation of complex space systems and ground segments.
- Negotiates and manages interface control documents with external partners.
- Engages in systems architecting and engineering tasks, including defining system requirements, managing interfaces, developing data architectures, and conducting performance and lifecycle cost analyses.
- Ensures the verification and validation of requirements.
- Assesses program risks and offers actionable insights to senior engineering and program management teams.
- Collaborates independently with representatives from government program offices, FFRDC, SETA, and contractor teams.
Ideal Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with a minimum of eighteen (18) years of experience; or a Master's degree with sixteen (16) years of experience, with additional experience considered in lieu of a degree.
- Possession of an active Top Secret clearance, with the capability to obtain TS/SCI clearance and willingness to undergo a polygraph examination.
- Proven experience in the development, integration, and operational management of space systems within DoD or other agencies.
- Demonstrated leadership in systems engineering teams focused on the integration of complex space and ground systems.
The anticipated salary range for this position is between $200,001 and $240,000, reflecting the typical compensation based on experience and qualifications.
