Key Responsibilities:- Prepare for and Attend Court Hearings: Prepare for and attend court hearings and trials of various complexity and duration, ensuring that all necessary documents and materials are in order.
- Issue Warrants and Summonses: Issue warrants and summonses as required, and process orders received in Court.
- Manage Exhibits: Oversee and manage exhibits submitted during court proceedings, ensuring that they are properly received, processed, stored, and disposed of in accordance with Arizona Revised Statutes and Arizona Rules of Court.
- Review and Check Work: Review and check the work of other clerical workers to ensure that it conforms to regulations, policies, and procedures governing assigned operations.
- Perform Other Duties: Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible clerical and/or administrative experience.
- Additional Requirements: Must possess a valid Arizona driver's license.
- Knowledge of: Court system rules, statutes, and regulations governing the department; Arizona Code of Conduct for Judicial Employees and Clerk of Court and Yavapai County policies; business English, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and composition; clerical office practices and procedures; current Microsoft Office software; filing and recordkeeping.
- Skills in: Customer service; time management; communicating effectively and professionally; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public; organization and adherence to detail.
- Ability to: Take notes (written and typed) and transcribe those notes into a comprehensive minute entry; complete detailed work accurately and in compliance with department standards; maintain confidentiality of court proceedings and documents; adhere to the Arizona Code of Conduct for Judicial Employees, as well as Clerk of Court and Yavapai County policies; type at the minimum speed of fifty (50) WPM; work under pressure in a dynamic environment with changing demands and priorities; develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates, employees of other departments, representatives of other organizations, County officials, and the public.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time; sufficient vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech ability to communicate effectively in-person and telephonically; capable of frequent repetitive movement of arms, fingers, and wrists; ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
