Medical Assistant Certified Professional

At Northern Arizona Healthcare Corporation, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Escort patients from the waiting area to the exam room, communicating any delays or extended wait times.
- Review patient medical records and conduct pre-visit interviews to gather essential information.
- Take and record vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen saturation.
- Document medical history and assess the need for referrals and prescription renewals.
- Assist with patient follow-up and coordination of clerical information to ensure seamless patient care.
Community Care Management:
- Assess living environments and subjective symptoms to identify potential issues and report to providers as needed.
- Support and reinforce provider care plans and education.
- Collaborate with care management teams and community agencies to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Cardiology Clinic/Departments:
- Prepare patients for examinations, assist with procedures, and perform various medically related tasks within your scope of knowledge.
- Instruct patients on urine collection procedures and assist with donning/doffing compression garments as needed.
Administration:
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.
- Answer and prioritize incoming telephone calls, communicating effectively with callers and returning messages in a timely manner.
- Perform pre-visit reviews to ensure medical records are complete and accurate.
- Document patient information in the electronic medical record, following standard work guidelines.
Education and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical Assistant Diploma from an accredited program or certification from a recognized organization, such as the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), within 90 days of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
- Fingerprint Clearance Card application number required upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year of related job experience.
