Medical Assistant

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Northern Arizona Healthcare. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Escort patients from the waiting area to the exam room and communicate information regarding extended wait or delay in appointment times.
- Review the patient medical record and conduct pre-visit interviews with patients, recording chief complaints and vital signs.
- Check patient vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and pulse oximetry, and report to the provider.
- Review and document medical history with patients.
- Administer injections under the supervision of the provider and perform venipuncture and capillary punctures as needed.
- Process test results and provide patients with timely results via email, mail, or phone as directed by the physician or allied health professional.
- Conduct designated point-of-care testing, including electrocardiograms and throat cultures.
- Assess needs for referrals and prescription renewals and support the provider care plan and education.
- Collaborate with the care management team and other community agencies to support patient care.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Medical Assistant Diploma from an accredited Medical Assisting program or college, or valid and active Medical Assistant Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or National Health Care Association (NHA) required within 90 days of hire.
- BLS (American Heart Association) certification required within 90 days of hire.
- Fingerprint Clearance Card application number required upon hire, and Fingerprint Clearance Card required within 90 days of hire.
