Position Title:
Sales Counter Specialist

Job Overview:
The Sales Counter Specialist will enhance revenue and client satisfaction by effectively and courteously assisting both walk-in and phone customers in selecting and obtaining necessary products.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist customers at the sales counter by accurately processing orders and entering them into the system.
2. Utilize electronic and printed catalogs to provide customers with product details, pricing, and availability.
3. Adhere to company pricing and credit policies.
4. Address customer issues promptly or refer them to the appropriate personnel.
5. Efficiently retrieve orders from the warehouse.

6. Boost sales and average order size through cross-selling, up-selling, and promoting new and promotional items.

7. Promote and sell surplus, damaged, and discontinued products.
8. Manage customer complaints and returns with a positive demeanor.
9. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the merchandising and counter areas.

10. Ensure the counter area is well-stocked; adjust inventory to encourage impulse purchases and remove outdated items.

11. Assist with scheduled physical inventory counts.
12. Participate in company-sponsored sales initiatives.
13. Collaborate with other departments to resolve customer service issues efficiently.
14. Perform light warehouse tasks as assigned.
15. Utilize order entry systems and technology as required.
16. Attend product training sessions.
17. Comply with company policies and procedures.
18. Understand and uphold company ethics standards.
19. Maintain professionalism in all interactions with customers and vendors.
20. Communicate the company's commitment to continuous improvement.
21. Use standard office equipment and personal computers effectively.
22. Present a professional appearance.
23. Foster teamwork and collaboration.
24. Handle challenging customer interactions with diplomacy.
25. Work effectively with a diverse range of individuals.

27. Understand basic inventory management and stocking practices.

33. Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Education Requirements:
High school diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years in a similar role or relevant training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
Minimum of 1-2 years in a progressive role.
Must pass a drug screening and background check.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
Frequently required to stand and walk.
Frequently required to sit.
Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
Continually required to communicate verbally.
Occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather related).
Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts.
Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required for this position include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, adaptability to customer needs, and a genuine desire to assist others in achieving success.
