Our Precision Division is strategically located in the western region of the San Fernando Valley, bordered by the Santa Susanna Mountains to the west and Los Angeles to the east.

Position Overview:

The Senior Cost Accountant will play a pivotal role in financial analysis and reporting, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in cost management processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct variance analysis and cost of goods sold assessments.
  • Perform margin analysis and identify potential re-quote opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Controller, Operations Manager, and VP of Finance for month-end inventory and WIP close.
  • Review item activations and conduct item reviews.
  • Develop and compile cost data where standard data is absent.
  • Analyze budget variances and report findings after interviewing relevant personnel.
  • Prepare cost estimates for new, redesigned, or modified products.
  • Interpret blueprints and part material specifications.
  • Generate monthly management reports and analyze closed jobs for variances.
  • Update cost records in response to price changes.
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure accuracy in routings, bills of material, and inventory transactions.
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of costing and inventory records.
  • Participate in cycle counting and year-end audits.
  • Engage in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting procedures, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with US GAAP/IFRS standards.
  • Ability to maintain complex records and reports effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Process Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of cost accounting or process engineering experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Expertise in Excel and familiarity with ERP systems, particularly Infor Manufacturing ERP.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles is advantageous.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or have asylum or refugee status in the U.S.

Compensation: Salary range of $80K - $99K, depending on experience.
