Position Overview:
The Project Cost Specialist plays a vital role in providing analytical support across various projects.

This position requires exceptional computer skills and familiarity with the tools and software utilized in Project Services.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and analyze cost plans.

2. Evaluate the cost and schedule plan to assess the feasibility of project objectives.

3. Create, maintain, and update monthly budget forecasts.

4. Accurately forecast project completion costs and maintain comprehensive reports.

5. Assess and report on project performance in accordance with established industry benchmarks.

6. Ensure project budget responses reflect precise and up-to-date cost information, with stakeholder agreement.

7. Communicate cost-related project risks to key stakeholders.

8. Assist Project Managers in preparing funding requests for project authorization.

9. Support Project Managers in securing funding adjustments through the Unifier change control system.

10. Input data into various systems and generate diverse cost and forecasting reports.

11. Analyze and monitor cost variances by comparing the current cost plan to actual expenditures.

12. Investigate and validate unauthorized project costs, reporting findings to Project Managers and Supervisors.


13. Confirm whether project cost and schedule milestones were achieved and provide insights for future process improvements, collaborating with relevant parties for implementation.

14. Manage project funding orders, ensuring all necessary documentation is accurately entered into tracking systems.

15. Maintain logs for scope changes, contingency releases, change orders, and journal entries.


16. Keep comprehensive written and electronic project documentation and records, adhering to established guidelines and requirements.

17. Collaborate with other departments during the project closeout process, working closely with Project Management to identify required deliverables and timelines for successful closeout.

18. Prepare special reports for supervisors or managers as requested.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a relevant field such as Construction Management or Project Management.

- 3-5 years of experience as a Cost Analyst or in a related Project Controls role.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Cost Engineering software tools.

- Experience in cost management associated with construction operations.

- Knowledge of accounting and budgeting principles.

- Strong mathematical skills.
