About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Development Coordinator to join our Transportation Team at GHD. As a key member of our business development team, you will play a critical role in supporting the pursuit of new business opportunities and assisting Relationship Managers in managing the positioning and pre-proposal stages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a deputy for the Relationship Managers and maintain and strengthen relationships with existing and potential clients, partners, and industry associations.
  • Participate in the assessment and positioning phase of the business development cycle, providing input on the feasibility, value proposition, and differentiation of pursuing opportunities.
  • Track and monitor potential opportunities, help maintain salesforce, and provide regular reports on the status and outcomes of business development activities.
  • Create and distribute a quarterly newsletter showcasing GHD's capabilities, projects, and achievements, and highlighting relevant market information and opportunities.
  • Conduct research on market trends, client needs, competitors, and best practices, providing insights and recommendations to the business development team.
  • Develop and update specific statements of qualifications (SOQs) demonstrating GHD's expertise and experience in various sectors and services.
  • Manage the planning and coordination of GHD's participation in conferences, trade shows, and other events, preparing and delivering marketing materials for presenters and booths.
  • Collaborate with capture managers and pursuit teams to develop and execute capture plans, strategies, and win themes, ensuring a smooth transition from the pre-proposal to the proposal phase.
  • Support Relationship Managers in developing and maintaining the priority pursuits list, used to establish designated Capture teams' official regional level priority pursuits.
  • Monitor client satisfaction levels and implement strategies to enhance client experience and retention.
  • Review requests for proposals (RFPs) and other solicitation documents, identifying compliance requirements and risks, and working with Relationship Managers to identify potential teaming partners and supporting qualifications.
  • As assigned by Relationship Managers and Business Development Leads, coordinate with Project Managers and Project Directors on technical content support and development, including writing, editing, formatting, and proofreading technical content for BD initiatives and pursuits.
Qualifications
  • Degree in business, marketing, engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • 10+ years of experience in business development, proposal management, or marketing in the engineering, consulting, or construction industry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, InDesign, and CRM software (Salesforce preferred).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences and purposes.
  • Strong understanding of the transportation/water industry and key differentiators to successfully winning work.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize and present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player and self-starter, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Creative and innovative thinker, with the ability to develop and implement effective marketing strategies and solutions.

Salary Range

$94,000-$140,000 based on experience.
