Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Assistant to join our cardiology practice. As a Clinical Assistant, you will work directly with our physicians to provide professional clinical assistance to patients, ensuring the highest level of quality patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with physicians to establish and maintain quality patient care
  • Utilize clinical teamwork to oversee the interdisciplinary plan of care, assessing patients and families as needed, planning and implementing clinical care, and facilitating its delivery
  • Triage all clinical phone calls to the main office and coordinate follow-up with medical doctors and nurse practitioners
  • Enter prescription requests into the electronic medical record for provider approval
  • Make follow-up phone calls to patients and family members to provide test results
  • Coordinate care, scheduling follow-up tests and appointments with specialists
  • Prioritize authorizations
  • Maintain office supplies and restock
  • Assist physicians with the completion of forms
  • Administer non-reconstituted aerosolized medications via nebulizer
  • Assemble necessary supplies and equipment for outpatient clinic
  • Monitor and record treatment parameters, such as vital signs, weight, height, O2 saturation, etc.
  • Clearly document patient care and communicate observations to supervising MD/NP
  • Trained and certified in basic CPR

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent required
  • Graduate of accredited License Practical Nursing Program required
  • Current FL LPN license required
  • Previous experience in a cardiac setting a must
