In the Grid Operations division at ERCOT, you will have the opportunity to engage in the real-time management of the electric power grid while honing your engineering and leadership capabilities. Our exceptional engineering teams work in concert with generators and control room operators to meet the energy demands of today through the application of cutting-edge technologies and resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and enhance forecasting methodologies, including the integration of machine learning techniques, to inform grid operations.
  • Analyze sources of grid variability, including the effects of pricing and emissions regulations, to provide technical support ensuring reliable operations of the electric power grid in compliance with established standards.
  • Conduct analysis and provide technical support for the planning and operation of the electric power system.
  • Implement system modeling, develop monitoring and control tools, perform system studies, and analyze operational results to address current and future system challenges.
  • Prepare and present findings and recommendations based on comprehensive analysis.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in power system engineering or a related role.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required, or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification is preferred.

Salary and position level will be determined based on overall experience. Employees are expected to work on-site as required, with flexible scheduling options available.
