YOUR ROLE:

We are seeking a Lead Power Modeling Specialist to join our accomplished design team of skilled engineers. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting SoC power modeling for upcoming AMD APUs and CPUs, as well as contributing to the establishment of product specifications. You will also play a key role in defining product boundaries.

The successful applicant will possess a robust understanding of power and performance dynamics, excellent multi-functional communication abilities, and strong organizational skills coupled with logical reasoning. A self-driven individual, you should have the technical expertise and interpersonal confidence to articulate performance concepts clearly.

As a proactive team member, you will be capable of independently navigating complex performance optimizations while collaborating with others to troubleshoot identified issues. Comfort in a laboratory setting is essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop, validate, and sustain power models for various devices and systems.
  • Collaborate with design, architecture, and verification teams to comprehend power requirements and limitations.
  • Conduct power analysis and optimization throughout different design phases.
  • Interpret simulation results to identify power constraints and propose enhancements.
  • Assist in the creation of power estimation tools and methodologies.
  • Engage in design reviews, offering insights on power consumption and optimization strategies.
  • Keep abreast of the latest developments in power modeling and SoC technologies.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Demonstrated experience in power modeling and analysis for devices.
  • In-depth knowledge of device physics and power consumption mechanisms.
  • Expertise in power estimation tools and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with simulation tools such as SPICE, Verilog, or System Verilog.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or TCL.
  • Understanding of low-power design techniques and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of power-aware verification techniques.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
