Role Summary: As a Transmission Interconnection Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the integration of new power generation projects into the grid. This position entails managing the interconnection process, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, collaborating with utility companies and transmission operators, and providing support to project development teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee interconnection applications from initiation to commercial operation date (COD);
  • Monitor and ensure timely delivery of project milestones and related requirements;
  • Conduct system modeling and transmission analysis for a diverse portfolio of energy storage, solar, wind, and hybrid projects;
  • Replicate interconnection studies from Independent System Operators (ISOs) and utilities to assess potential impacts and costs associated with integrating generation into power systems;
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on interconnection queues, transmission planning, tariffs, and business practice modifications;
  • Provide due diligence support for Transmission & Interconnection in ongoing mergers and acquisitions;
  • Collaborate with colleagues involved in project development, market analysis, and forecasting;
  • Prepare technical summaries, reports, and materials for both technical and non-technical audiences;
  • Enhance and streamline processes and automation to improve data management, processing, and workflow efficiency;
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in transmission analysis and interconnection queue management;
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering; advanced degrees are a plus;
  • Prior experience with Independent Power Producers (IPPs), consulting, or similar roles is preferred;
  • Proficiency in power system analysis tools such as TARA, PSS/E, or PSLF;
  • Experience in organized electric markets (e.g., CAISO, NYISO, PJM, ERCOT);
  • Familiarity with NERC planning standards;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and strategic thinking;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Highly organized, capable of managing tight deadlines and time-sensitive projects.
