Position Overview

As a Senior Engineer specializing in Power Systems, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the Electric System division. This full-time position is integral to the advancement of innovative Distributed Energy Resource (DER) technologies.

Qualifications

To qualify, candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution, along with a minimum of seven years of relevant engineering experience. A valid Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas is required, or the ability to obtain one within a year if licensed in another state.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

1. Conduct intricate analyses of power systems, including but not limited to protective coordination, fault studies, and load forecasting.
2. Develop and evaluate engineering designs, specifications, and procedures for transmission and distribution systems.
3. Provide expert guidance on materials, design standards, and technology relevant to the utility sector.
4. Formulate and implement operational and safety protocols for system facilities.
5. Prepare necessary documentation for regulatory compliance.

Preferred Skills

Ideal candidates will have:

- Familiarity with DER and control systems.
- A degree in electrical engineering focused on Power Systems.
- Proficiency in interpreting electrical schematics and control diagrams.
- Knowledge of smart grid communication protocols.
- Experience with SCADA systems and PLC programming.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
