Position: Transmission Interconnection Manager

Aypa Power, a prominent player in the energy sector, is dedicated to the development, ownership, and operation of large-scale energy storage and hybrid renewable projects. As a Transmission Interconnection Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the integration of new power generation initiatives into the existing grid infrastructure. This role requires effective management of the interconnection process, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, collaborating with utility companies and transmission operators, and providing support to project development teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage interconnection applications from initiation through to commercial operation date (COD).
  • Monitor and ensure the achievement of project milestones and related requirements.
  • Conduct system modeling and transmission analysis for a diverse range of Energy Storage, Solar, Wind, and Hybrid projects.
  • Replicate interconnection studies to assess potential impacts and costs associated with connecting generation sources to power systems.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on interconnection queues, transmission planning, tariffs, and business practice modifications.
  • Provide due diligence support for Transmission & Interconnection in ongoing mergers and acquisitions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues involved in project development, market analysis, and forecasting.
  • Prepare comprehensive summaries, reports, and technical documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Enhance and streamline processes and automation to facilitate effective data management and workflows.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in transmission analysis and interconnection queue management.
  • A Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering; advanced degrees are preferred.
  • Experience in an Independent Power Producer (IPP), consultancy, or similar role is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in power system modeling tools such as TARA, PSS/E, or PSLF.
  • Familiarity with organized electric markets including CAISO, NYISO, PJM, or ERCOT.
  • Understanding of NERC planning standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a keen attention to detail and strategic thinking.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
