Job Overview

Position Summary:

We are seeking a committed Afterschool Care Specialist to support our mission at the Diocese of Austin Catholic Parishes. This role involves working collaboratively with the ECDC Associate Director to foster the comprehensive growth of children in our care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the ECDC Associate Director in designing stimulating afterschool programs.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety regulations to create a secure environment for children.
  • Engage with children through play and demonstrate positive social interactions.
  • Maintain open communication with educators and management regarding children's development and activities.
  • Supervise children consistently and encourage appropriate behavior during meal times.
  • Demonstrate Catholic principles through your conduct and lead age-appropriate prayers.
  • Uphold the confidentiality of staff, children, and their families.
  • Participate in ongoing training to improve your professional skills.
  • Follow directives from ECDC leadership and assist in their initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • CDA credential is advantageous.
  • Previous experience with children is preferred.
  • Possession of a valid Texas driver's license or government-issued ID.
  • Compliance with the Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry policies is mandatory.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.

  • Participation in religious activities and ceremonies may be required.
