Position Summary:
We are seeking a committed Afterschool Care Specialist to support our mission at the Diocese of Austin Catholic Parishes. This role involves working alongside the ECDC Associate Director to foster the comprehensive growth of children in our care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the ECDC Associate Director in designing stimulating afterschool programs.
- Ensure adherence to all safety regulations to create a secure environment for children.
- Interact with children through play and demonstrate positive behavior.
- Maintain open communication with educators and management regarding children's development and activities.
- Supervise children consistently and encourage appropriate conduct during meal times.
- Model Catholic principles through actions and lead age-appropriate prayers.
- Uphold the confidentiality of staff, children, and families.
- Engage in professional development to improve your competencies.
- Follow directives from ECDC leadership and support their initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- CDA credential is advantageous.
- Previous experience with children is preferred.
- Possession of a valid Texas driver's license or government-issued ID.
- Compliance with Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry policies is necessary.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check is required.
Work Environment:
- All roles within the Diocese of Austin Catholic Parishes contribute to the ministry.
- This is an at-will employment position.
- Tobacco-free workplace.
- Fast-paced setting with evolving priorities.
- Participation in religious activities and ceremonies may be expected.
- Adherence to dress code and conduct standards is essential.
