Overview: The Civil Construction Supervisor is responsible for leading a team engaged in various construction tasks, focusing on the proficient use of hand tools and heavy machinery. This role requires a solid understanding of layout techniques, concrete carpentry, and the installation of diverse concrete foundations and slabs, as well as conduit installation and trenching. The Supervisor is expected to train and guide Crew Members in these essential skills while maintaining communication with the project manager regarding progress and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete all mandatory safety training provided by the organization.
  • Participate in all required technical training sessions.
  • Consistently promote and uphold safe work practices as outlined in the safety manual and other directives.
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform, instruct, and oversee civil construction activities.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and care of company equipment.
  • Exhibit strong organizational skills in all assigned tasks.
  • Utilize intermediate computer skills effectively.
  • Coordinate and communicate all job-related activities with management and crew members.
  • Facilitate communication between management, clients, and other personnel on-site.

Physical Requirements:

  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings.
  • Willingness to travel for extended periods.
  • Communicate fluently with all staff, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Operate machinery such as backhoes, mini excavators, and skid steers.
  • Read and interpret blueprints accurately.
  • Engage in safe working practices in compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Adapt to various learning methods, including self-study.
  • Read and comprehend general job-related documents.
  • Possess a CDL license with an Airbrake endorsement, preferred.
  • Previous experience in the construction industry is advantageous.
  • Perform physical tasks such as bending, squatting, and lifting up to 80 lbs.
  • Stand for extended periods as required.

Position Expectations:

  • Direct the crew to ensure all work meets organizational and client standards.
  • Maximize crew efficiency on critical job functions to enhance profitability.
  • Operate hand and power tools competently.
  • Manage trucks, trailers, and other equipment effectively.
  • Lay out sites for cell towers and telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Install and wire telecommunications equipment, including breakers and terminations.
  • Engage in trenching and laying fiber and conduit.
  • Pour concrete for pads, piers, pylons, and foundations.
  • Set up and install pre-fabricated equipment buildings.
  • Install light industrial steel structures, such as H-frames and light posts.
