Overview: The Civil Construction Supervisor is responsible for leading a team engaged in various construction tasks, emphasizing proficiency in hand tool usage, heavy machinery operation, and the layout of structural frameworks. This role requires extensive knowledge in concrete carpentry, foundation installation, trenching, and the development of aggregate roads and compounds. The Supervisor is expected to execute all critical job functions and provide training and guidance to Crew Members. Daily communication with the project manager regarding progress and crew performance is essential. Key Responsibilities:

  • · Complete all mandatory safety training provided by Sabre Industries
  • · Participate in all required technical training sessions
  • · Consistently promote and adhere to safe work practices as outlined in the Sabre Safety Manual and other directives from Management
  • · Oversee and instruct civil construction activities
  • · Ensure proper maintenance of Sabre equipment
  • · Exhibit strong organizational skills in all assigned tasks
  • · Utilize intermediate computer skills effectively
  • · Coordinate job-related activities with Sabre Management and Crew Members
  • · Facilitate communication between Sabre Management, clients, and other personnel on-site

Physical Demands:

  • · Maintain a professional demeanor in both speech and appearance
  • · Successfully pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings
  • · Willingness to travel for extended periods
  • · Communicate fluently with all Sabre staff, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients
  • · Operate machinery including backhoes, mini excavators, and skid steers
  • · Read and interpret blueprints accurately
  • · Engage effectively with the Project Manager and other Sabre employees
  • · Adhere to safe working procedures in compliance with OSHA regulations
  • · Learn through various instructional methods and self-study
  • · Read and comprehend general job-related documents
  • · A CDL license with Airbrake endorsement is highly preferred
  • · Previous experience in the construction industry is advantageous
  • · Engage in bending, squatting, and stooping for over 50% of the workday
  • · Lift up to 80 lbs. as required
  • · Stand for extended periods, exceeding 60% of the workday

Position Expectations:

  • Direct the crew to ensure all work aligns with Sabre and client standards regarding scheduling and specifications
  • Maximize crew efficiency on critical job functions to enhance overall profitability
  • Operate hand and power tools proficiently
  • Manage trucks, trailers, and other equipment effectively
  • Lay out telecommunications infrastructure and cell tower sites
  • Install and wire telecommunications equipment, including breakers and terminations
  • Conduct trenching and lay fiber and conduit
  • Pour concrete for pads, piers, pylons, and block wall foundations, including layout, forming, rebar placement, and finishing
  • Set up and install pre-fabricated equipment buildings
  • Install light industrial steel structures, such as H-frames and light posts
