Role Summary: As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, directing, and coordinating the production methodologies for our array of manufactured goods. Your responsibilities will encompass New Product Introduction and the Continuous Improvement of our existing offerings. You will leverage cutting-edge technology, advanced machining techniques, and automation solutions, alongside LEAN manufacturing principles, to enhance quality while minimizing cycle times and costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop robust models and detailed schematics utilizing the latest versions of SolidWorks and Solidcam or Mastercam.
  • Design and implement fixtures and work-holding solutions for various processes including machining, cleaning, marking, and finishing.
  • Create NC programs using Mastercam or Solidcam.
  • Generate comprehensive work instructions and quality documentation related to processes.
  • Oversee the review and disposition of non-conforming materials.
  • Assist operations with troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges.
  • Maintain proper configuration management by systematically naming and saving electronic files and programs.
  • Complete design and development tasks with minimal oversight.
  • Enhance your professional and technical expertise through workshops, technical literature, networking, and participation in professional organizations.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment by achieving results while working cohesively with colleagues.
  • Adhere to Arwood's Quality Management System (QMS) and OSHA safety policies.
  • Encourage the implementation of our company's 7S and LEAN methodologies.
  • Be open to and communicate ideas for ongoing improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in robotic loading and automation technologies, including Fanuc robots and other collaborative systems.
  • Strong background in 3D modeling.
  • Expertise in CNC machining processes such as milling, turning, grinding, and EDM.
  • Knowledge of post-manufacturing processes, including heat treatment, metal joining, coatings, NDT, assembly, and thermal barrier coatings.
  • Advanced skills in blueprint interpretation, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GDT), and dimensional inspection.
  • Ability to interpret customer specifications and compliance requirements, including MIL standards and ASTM guidelines.
  • Solid understanding of work-holding design utilizing SMED techniques.
  • Demonstrated decision-making capabilities with sound judgment.
  • Proven ability to program CNC equipment, particularly 5-axis and mill-turn machinery.
  • Technical proficiency and mechanical aptitude.
  • Commitment to accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for quality enhancement.
  • Willingness to apply feedback for performance improvement.
