Rochester Electronics is seeking a qualified Junior Process Engineer

Position Summary

The Junior Process Engineer for Test is responsible for developing and documenting manufacturing methodologies, materials, tools, and processes associated with back-end semiconductor testing and automation. This role involves conducting analyses and selecting techniques to address challenges and improve product yield, process flow, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designs high-yield, cost-efficient processes tailored to product specifications and customer needs.
  • Stays informed about advancements in manufacturing and design technologies.
  • Implements and executes Design of Experiments (DOE) for process optimization using statistical analysis software such as JUMP, Minitab, Excel Statistics, or similar tools.
  • Establishes processes aligned with product specifications.
  • Assesses and validates process and design alternatives to ensure manufacturability.
  • Understands cost of goods sold principles and identifies process enhancements to boost manufacturing cost-effectiveness.
  • Recognizes intellectual property considerations related to developed processes.
  • Fosters positive and collaborative communication with employees, customers, contractors, and vendors at all levels.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in engineering or equivalent technical experience in Test engineering.
  • Familiarity with MIL-PRF-38535, MIL-STD-883, ISO9001, and EIA/JEDEC standards.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in test manufacturing and/or engineering.
  • Skills:
  1. Experience with Back-End Automated Test Equipment.
  2. Background in engineering and statistical techniques.
  3. Training and mentoring capabilities.
  4. Evaluation of equipment, materials, and techniques.
  5. Commitment to high quality and continuous improvement.
