General Overview

The Engineering Technician I collaborates closely with Process Engineering and fellow Engineering Technicians to enhance and sustain manufacturing techniques and processes. This role involves recognizing and applying established methods to address challenges and proposing improvements to products, process flows, and equipment settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Process Engineers in developing efficient, cost-effective processes tailored to product specifications and customer demands.
  • Set up and operate machinery, optimize procedures, and perform setups and changeovers with minimal guidance.
  • Support and educate operators on equipment and recipe-related matters with limited external assistance.
  • With some supervision, troubleshoot and resolve intermediate process-related challenges.
  • Under the guidance of Process Engineers, conduct design of experiments (DOE) and collect data for further analysis.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, operational procedures, quality standards, and assigned tasks.
  • Collaborate with Process Engineers to apply principles of Cost of Goods Sold and implement process enhancements to improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Maintain positive and cooperative communication with colleagues, customers, contractors, and vendors at all levels.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in engineering or a related technical discipline is required; a higher degree is preferred. A minimum of 3 years of relevant engineering or semiconductor assembly experience is necessary, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with MIL-PRF-38535, MIL-STD-883, ISO9001, and EIA/JEDEC standards is advantageous.
  • Proven electro-mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and independently with a degree of autonomy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with stakeholders at various organizational levels.
  • Must accurately follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to prioritize assigned projects effectively with guidance from process owners.
  • Capability to thrive in a highly matrixed and diverse business environment.
  • Understanding of workplace safety regulations (e.g., basic OSHA standards).
