Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure consistent high quality and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Review and accurately distribute requisitions and purchase orders.
  • Engage with suppliers to gather information on materials, including pricing, availability, and delivery timelines.
  • Assist in determining procurement methods, such as direct purchases or bidding processes.
  • Request quotes, prepare purchase orders, or bid requests from domestic and international suppliers.
  • Support the evaluation of bid proposals and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
  • Address issues with defective or unacceptable materials in collaboration with vendors or quality control teams, assisting in identifying the source of quality concerns and implementing corrective measures.
  • Analyze inquiries to assess needs and demand.
  • Authorize invoices for payment as necessary.
  • Assist in resolving issues related to incorrect invoicing, material quality, and shipping schedules.
  • Occasionally participate in vendor visits to build relationships and enhance business knowledge.
  • Under supervision, monitor import logistics, quotations, and deliveries.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of quality improvement processes and the principles of continuous improvement.
  • Remain open and adaptable to change.
  • Provide both internal and external customers with knowledgeable, courteous, and prompt service at all times.
  • Adhere to all Company Code of Conduct, HR policies, and Environmental Health & Safety requirements.
  • Comply with the Company's safety standards and enforce safety regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, along with at least 2 years of relevant purchasing experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business inquiries and professional technical RFQs.
  • Proficient in writing reports, filtering and utilizing relevant data, and executing based on well-informed knowledge.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from managers, internal/external customers, and suppliers.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (mathematical-related tasks).
  • Ability to solve practical problems and navigate constantly changing situations with limited standard procedures.
  • Ability to follow instructions provided in written, oral, and diagrammatic forms.
  • APICS/SIX SIGMA/LEAN training or certification is a plus.
  • Experience in metals or commodity purchasing is advantageous.
Equipment Proficiency:
  • Experience with AS400; familiarity with Microsoft D365 is a plus.
  • Knowledge of MRP systems or concepts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
