Summary

The MIL Corporation is in search of a meticulous and systematic professional to join our team in support of a Federal client as a Financial Operations Specialist (Junior Accounting Analyst).

The Financial Operations Specialist will play a crucial role in various financial activities, including assisting with internal audits, reconciliations, and the generation of financial statements.

This position is contingent upon award.

This role currently necessitates an on-site schedule with the potential for a hybrid telework arrangement. The schedule may vary based on company or contract requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with internal audits and liaison activities to ensure adherence to both internal and external audit standards.

• Supporting reconciliations to verify the accuracy and completeness of financial records.

• Aiding in the preparation of financial reports and statements.

• Addressing accounting and financial issues by providing timely and precise support.

• Accurately preparing journal entries in accordance with accounting principles.

• Executing data entry and payment processing tasks with a focus on detail and precision.

• Assisting with the distribution of mail and invoices to appropriate departments or individuals.

• Collaborating with team members to optimize accounting processes and improve efficiency.

Travel

Up to 15% annually, as necessary.

Required Qualifications

• Familiarity with Momentum-based accounting systems.

• Previous experience with accounting software.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel and Word.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Excellent organizational and time management capabilities.

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Desired Qualifications

• Prior or current experience executing similar responsibilities within the DOJ, its components, or other law enforcement agencies.

• Knowledge of accounting and financial management principles.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a related field, or equivalent experience combined with advanced certification.

Clearance

• Willingness to undergo a Public Trust background investigation.

Salary at MIL is determined based on factors such as qualifications, experience, and contractual limitations. For this position, the projected compensation range is $43,316 - $72,474 per year.
