Job Title: Financial Operations Specialist

At Kaplan, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our accounting operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of our financial statements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare and post standard and adjusting journal entries, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Revenue Reporting: Review and analyze revenue reports for accuracy, ensuring adherence to GAAP.
  • Month-End Close: Perform month-end close processes, meeting all deadlines and ensuring the accuracy of financial statements.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed variance analysis of profit and loss and balance sheet statements, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Account Reconciliation: Reconcile balance sheet accounts, investigating and resolving reconciling items.
  • Audit Support: Assist with audit requests, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
  • Internal Controls: Maintain proper internal controls for corporate and field financial processes.
  • Special Projects: Complete special projects and ad hoc requests as assigned by management.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Experience: 1+ years of accounting experience.
  • Skills: Professional verbal and written communication skills, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and intermediate Excel skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Oracle General Ledger Experience: Experience with Oracle General Ledger application.
