Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Music Curator - Jazz and Classical to join our team. As a Music Curator, you will be responsible for identifying artists to play in our Candlelight Series, with a focus on Jazz performers. You will also assist in curating and maintaining a large number of music programs, write talking points to be delivered by musicians in concerts across the globe, and maintain databases of performers, programs, etc. across tools such as Airtable and Google Sheets.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain databases of performers, programs, etc. across tools such as Airtable and Google Sheets
  • Work as part of a team, pitching and closing concerts for classical music and jazz artists
  • Work with the FeverUp marketing team to make sure our new music programs make an impact in terms of ticket sales and music quality
  • Identify and negotiate prices for music arrangements
  • Manage auditions to identify top performers
  • Review and critique arrangements for piano, string quartet, and/or jazz ensembles

Requirements

  • Applicants must be currently enrolled in a college degree/master program and able to work in our New York City office from September through December on a part-time basis (maximum of 29 hours/week)
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in music curation
  • Background in jazz. Classical music and other genres are a plus
  • Excellent sheet-music reading abilities
  • Excellent knowledge of the music industry and culture
  • Team spirit, excellent work ethic, and friendly and warm attitude
  • Exceptional verbal communication and organizational skills. Facility in additional languages a plus
  • Ability to work with and respond to analytics
  • Keen attention to detail including strong grammar and spelling skills
  • Strong propensity to take initiative and thrive on change
  • Ability to work with cross-functional, multi-geo teams toward mutual objectives
  • Experience in programming music or work in the music industry is a plus
  • Arranging skills and experience in Sibelius or Finale are a plus

  • A 60 min online test with three topics: logic, analytics, and written understanding
  • A 30 min interview with your future manager to assess fit and capabilities
  • A 45-60 min business case presentation (to be prepared in advance) to a small panel
  • On average, our process lasts ~4 weeks and offers usually follow within a week
