Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our People & Culture Team as a People & Culture Associate. This role requires an HR Generalist with expertise in Talent Acquisition, who appreciates the diverse responsibilities that come with HR functions. You will play a vital role in ensuring an exceptional experience for employees, candidates, and hiring managers alike. Key Responsibilities:
People Operations and Culture- Collaborate with the Finance department to manage bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy and completeness of staff timesheets and addressing any pay cycle discrepancies.
- Act as the primary contact for employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and policies, liaising with third-party vendors to resolve issues.
- Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring they are set up in payroll and benefits systems and have access to necessary resources.
- Oversee offboarding processes in coordination with benefits providers.
- Lead the Staff Activity Committee to organize events that promote a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and belonging.
- Coordinate recognition for employee milestones and significant life events.
- Prepare presentations for monthly All-Staff meetings.
- Assist the Chief People & Culture Officer with various projects and initiatives as they arise.
- Manage all aspects of the talent acquisition process, including working with hiring managers to develop job descriptions and interview frameworks, posting job openings, sourcing and screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks.
- Maintain the applicant tracking system (BambooHR), ensuring timely communication with applicants and efficiently progressing qualified candidates through the recruitment process.
- Evaluate current workflows and propose enhancements to streamline recruitment and onboarding.
- Identify innovative strategies to source candidates for specialized roles, emphasizing the recruitment of a diverse workforce.
Qualifications:
- Strong alignment with DOROT's mission.
- Minimum of 2 years of HR experience, including at least 1 year in full-cycle recruitment.
- Experience in payroll processing for both exempt and non-exempt staff, with familiarity in unionized environments being advantageous.
- Ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Proficient in asking insightful questions and confident in seeking clarity when needed.
- Passionate about recruitment and skilled in identifying the ideal candidate.
- Knowledge of competency- and behavioral-based interviewing techniques.
- Proven experience sourcing candidates through LinkedIn Recruiter, boolean searches, and other recruitment tools.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail.
- Demonstrates sound judgment and maintains confidentiality and integrity.
- Ability to work independently while knowing when to seek assistance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook/Teams, and adaptable to new technologies. Familiarity with Canva is a plus.
- Experience with payroll software; knowledge of BambooHR is advantageous.
