Position Overview

We are in search of dedicated and enthusiastic instructors for our expanded learning programs, aiming to make a significant impact on the educational journey of students. As a TK/K Program Instructor, you will create and nurture an engaging learning environment through interactive, play-based activities tailored for young children. Our instructor-to-student ratio is 1:10, ensuring personalized attention in a supportive setting.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Hourly Rate: $23
  • Weekly Hours: 26 hours, in addition to professional development

Essential Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in early childhood education, specifically in TK/K settings, is highly valued; 6-12 ECE units are preferred but not mandatory. An Associate Degree or higher, or completion of 48 college units, or passing the Instructional Aide exam is also acceptable.
  • Willingness to commit to a full academic year
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to ongoing professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement a play-based curriculum that enhances readiness for kindergarten and first grade.
  • Create an inspiring program atmosphere that encourages creativity and enthusiasm.
  • Support the emotional well-being of students.
  • Ensure a safe and positive classroom environment.
  • Develop lesson plans aligned with learning objectives and instructional strategies.
  • Serve as a positive role model for students facing challenges.
  • Maintain active supervision to ensure the safety of all children at all times.
  • Engage students in enjoyable activities that reinforce school-day learning.
  • Facilitate community circles based on restorative practices.
  • Collaborate with youth to enhance their learning and development through a youth-driven curriculum.
