About the Role:

The Salvation Army is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Educator Assistant to join our team at the Child Day Care Center. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children aged birth to five years old.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in creating a warm, orderly, and clean environment that promotes the development of children.
  • Supervise children, ensuring their health and safety, and maintaining State Licensing teacher-child ratios.
  • Contribute to the care and upkeep of equipment and supplies, and assist with set-up and clean-up duties as required.
  • Support the Head Teacher in completing required State Licensing paperwork, such as observations, assessments, and DRDP.
  • Be willing to substitute for support services and teaching positions as needed.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old and a high school graduate.
  • Early Childhood Education units 0-6 are preferred.
  • Some experience with young children is required, and Child Care Center experience is preferred.
  • Must be highly flexible in a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Ability to interact appropriately with children, work with diverse groups, and work as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis.
  • Ability to grasp, push, and/or pull objects.
  • Ability to reach overhead and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to process written, visual, and/or verbal information.
