Compensation: $27.55-$30.92 DOE plus a $1,000 sign-on bonus

We provide essential tools, knowledge, and resources to empower the community, impacting over 11,000 individuals and families each year through various programs, including early childhood education, youth mentorship, employment services, and more. Program Overview:

The Children and Family Services programs encompass Head Start, Early Head Start, State Pre-Kindergarten, Home-Based Services, and Developmental Play Groups, serving over 900 children and their families with tailored child development and family services across multiple locations.

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Center Director, the Early Head Start Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality care and education to infants and toddlers in a nurturing environment. This role promotes the holistic development of children enrolled in the program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide nurturing care during daily routines such as meals, hygiene, and rest for infants or toddlers
  • Design and implement developmentally appropriate educational activities
  • Collaborate with team members to create and execute daily lesson plans
  • Conduct assessments and maintain ongoing observations of children's progress
  • Facilitate parent-teacher conferences and home visits as required
  • Utilize classroom resources to foster an engaging and supportive learning environment
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with families
  • Ensure a safe and healthy classroom in compliance with relevant regulations
  • Participate in regular staff meetings and professional development opportunities
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

  • Ability to develop and implement daily curriculum plans
  • Strong teamwork skills in a multicultural environment
  • Compassionate approach to working with children and families
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish/English or another Asian language preferred
  • Knowledge of safe lifting techniques and preventive health measures

Requirements:

  • Teacher Permit or eligibility (24 ECE units, including 9 core courses)
  • AA Degree in Child Development or related field preferred
  • 6 units in Infant/Toddler Care (or in progress)

Physical Requirements:

Must be capable of performing physical tasks such as climbing stairs, lifting 20-30 pounds, and engaging in various movements to interact with children.

  • CPR certification
  • Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Training
