Position Objective:
This role is dedicated to aiding Sales Consultants in enhancing their business prospects within a designated region.

The Internal Sales Consultant's responsibilities encompass providing plan sponsors and Financial Advisors with product knowledge, plan structuring, technical assistance, and facilitating plan setup communications.

The Internal Sales Consultant fortifies connections with our partners' external sales representatives and sales teams. This position also entails generating sales calls and scheduling meetings for regional sales consultants.

Position Overview


The primary aim of the Internal Sales Consultant is to expand relationships among our internal and external business partner networks, clients, and potential clients.

We strive to enhance relationships through our services by improving the overall sales experience at each stage of the client and transaction lifecycle, fostering increased advocacy from our peers and greater brand recognition.


Section 2:
Key Responsibilities and Duties


Engage and drive initiatives to develop new and nurture existing partnerships within our institutional and business-to-business channels, including advisors, wholesalers, DCIO, clients, and prospects.

Generate sales calls and schedule meetings for Sales Consultants.

Collaborate closely with supervisors to execute campaigns aimed at business growth within the territory (e.g., email blasts, drip campaigns, etc.).

Manage lead databases and CRM systems to generate new leads and prospects.


Continuously enhance market knowledge and understanding to drive initiatives that support the business plans of our sales consultants.


Assist in coordinating, supporting, and facilitating advocacy for local industry events to strengthen relationship building, enhance education, share insights, and drive new business.


Utilize FuturePlan's investment in innovative and top-tier tools, resources, training, and industry expertise to manage business opportunities and increase proposal activity, thereby expanding our brand and services within our business communities.


Support the Sales Consultant team by boosting productivity and accessibility to positively impact overall sales effectiveness through proactive engagement with influencers.


Foster a collaborative team environment within the sales organization and work towards becoming a valuable and accessible extension of the sales consultant team.

Facilitate proactive communication and raise awareness throughout all facets of the sales and relationship lifecycle.


Assist in measuring, monitoring, and supporting progress towards business development initiatives in assigned territories and help achieve sales goals by collaborating and developing business plans to identify and drive critical activities.

Facilitate the creation and delivery of proposals to necessary parties. Manage and update the sales lifecycle of the business pipeline. Analyze trends, monitor campaigns, promotions, and focus activities accordingly within our advisor channels.


Provide plan design consultation support and identify opportunities for business partners to enhance their sales.


Collaborate with the onboarding team to improve the customer experience during the sales process at various stages, including paperwork, client documentation, and plan design consultations to efficiently onboard new plans.

Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Section 3:
Experience, Skills, and Knowledge Requirements

Associate or Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

2-5 years of experience in a sales or customer service-oriented role.

Experience in the financial services industry is advantageous.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Customer service-oriented mindset.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to thrive under pressure while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel.

Contribute to the sales organization by demonstrating a strong work ethic and effective team communication.

Possess strong solution-oriented skills.

Excellent interviewing and demonstration capabilities.
