Position Overview

The University of Minnesota is seeking a dedicated International Programs Operations Coordinator to enhance the operational and financial management of our International Programs and Services office. This role is pivotal in fostering global engagement and supporting the university's internationalization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Oversight and Analysis (45%)
  • Lead the financial planning and budgeting processes for the International Programs and Services Office.
  • Advise departmental leaders on the interpretation of financial policies.
  • Develop and implement program-specific financial guidelines.
  • Analyze financial data to determine program fees and ensure fiscal sustainability.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure accurate processing of payments and reimbursements.
  • Manage reconciliation of budgets and financial transactions.
  • Oversee student billing processes and collaborate with financial services.

Passport Office Management (20%)
  • Act as the primary liaison with the U.S. State Department and oversee passport acceptance operations.
  • Supervise passport acceptance agents and manage training initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and oversee the operational budget of the passport office.

Human Resources and Administrative Operations (15%)
  • Enhance office efficiency through process analysis and implementation of improvements.
  • Maintain accurate office records and ensure compliance with retention policies.
  • Provide training on university policies and procedures.
  • Supervise student workers and manage their schedules.

Scholarship Management and Outreach (15%)
  • Engage in outreach activities to promote program enrollment.
  • Lead the Study Abroad Scholarship Committee and oversee the application process.
  • Collaborate with various campus offices to enhance program visibility and support.

Qualifications

Required:
  • U.S. Citizenship or U.S. National status.
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of two years of relevant experience.

Preferred:
  • Experience with international processes in a business or educational setting.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
