Senior Account Executive Media Relations PR

Join Royal Caribbean Group, a global leader in the cruise industry, as a Senior Account Executive Media Relations PR. This exciting opportunity is part of our Marketing Team, reporting to the Manager, Brand Media Relations.
Job Summary:This strategic role is crucial in implementing public relations programs to create and maintain a favorable public image for the organization. As a communications and public relations professional, you will assist in directing projects and project teams, producing high-quality content, and building key professional relationships with significant media outlets and key journalists.
Key Responsibilities:- Execute strategies to secure impactful media coverage for Royal Caribbean International, subject matter experts, products, services, and events.
- Build and maintain key professional relationships with significant media outlets and key journalists.
- Direct the activities of external agencies and internal teams as needed.
- Develop and execute strategies to address communication challenges.
- Oversee significant communications programs, including promotions, press trips, press conferences, and executive briefings.
- Handle incoming media inquiries and responses.
- Create innovative approaches to generating coverage in the media, draft press releases, talking points, and statements.
- Track press coverage and write coverage reports analyzing the output and success of media relations efforts.
- Plan and implement group and individual press trips and liaise with appropriate personnel on requests.
- Stay abreast of the latest industry developments, trends, and shifts in the travel industry.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent, directly related experience required.
- 5-7 years of PR agency, public relations, journalism, or corporate communications experience.
- Experience with media relations.
- Strong skills in pitching and comfortable reaching out to top-tier media.
- Flexibility to work outside normal hours and travel as appropriate (domestic and international).
- Experience in the travel industry and working for a global company ideal, but not essential.
- Strong ability to interact with senior leaders and build effective relationships within the company, public, guests, and media.
- Strong planning capabilities to identify and prioritize communication strategies and activities as well as to meet the deadlines required to support media and business needs.
- Strong writing skills - message creation experience a plus.
- Excellent research, written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Goal-oriented and action-focused, practical, and self-disciplined.
- Ability to assist in coordinating projects or participate in cross-functional teams.
- Effortlessly organized self-motivator with a wealth of creative ideas.
- Understanding of social media, influencers, and emerging media.
- Strong project management, planning, evaluation, and analytical capabilities.
- Ability to evaluate and provide constructive feedback in a timely manner.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly analyze situations and alternatives and make prudent decisions.
- Finger on the pulse - always up to date with trends, both inside and outside our industry.
- Computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email).
- Outstanding English language proficiency. Proficiency in Spanish desirable.
