Administrative Assistant

The Principal Assistant position serves as the principal advisor to the Chair of the Department of Apparel, Merchandising, Design and Textiles (AMDT) and is responsible for providing administrative, managerial, fiscal, personnel, and leadership support to the Department.
Key Responsibilities- Provide administrative support to the Chair and Department staff, including managing schedules, coordinating meetings, and preparing reports.
- Manage departmental budgets, including preparing financial reports and making recommendations for budget allocations.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure effective departmental operations.
- Supervise and mentor departmental staff, including providing guidance and support to ensure successful performance.
- Collaborate with other departments and units to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field and four years of progressively responsible management experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound judgments and recommendations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
- Experience working in a higher education setting, with knowledge of WSU policies and procedures.
- Excellent working knowledge of financial and administrative systems, including budgeting and financial reporting.
