Job Responsibilities

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Maintain cleanliness of building floors through various methods including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming.
  • Collect and dispose of waste and recycling materials.
  • Service and restock restroom facilities.
  • Polish and maintain furniture and fixtures.
  • Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers and vacuums.
  • Wash windows and glass surfaces using appropriate cleaning solutions.
  • Dust and clean furniture, walls, and equipment.
  • Prepare cleaning solutions by mixing water with detergents or acids as needed.
  • Perform floor maintenance including stripping, sealing, and polishing.
  • Restore interiors affected by fire, smoke, or water damage using commercial cleaning tools.
  • Change light bulbs and air filters as necessary.
  • Move heavy items and equipment safely.
  • Maintain outdoor areas by mowing lawns and trimming shrubs.
  • Notify management of any major repair needs.
  • Clear snow from walkways and parking areas during winter.
  • Request necessary supplies and equipment for cleaning tasks.
  • Set up and dismantle furniture and equipment for events.
  • Apply pest control measures to prevent infestations.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Entry-level experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate basic instructions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and carry various weights as required.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring flexibility and manual dexterity.
