Principal Site Reliability Engineer

We are currently seeking a skilled Principal Site Reliability Engineer to join our dynamic team at Brightspeed. As a Principal Site Reliability Engineer, you will play a key role in implementing and maintaining monitoring systems for business-critical systems and infrastructure. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the performance and availability of our services and features. Collaborating closely with development teams and other stakeholders, you will be instrumental in making sure that our systems are reliable and scalable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain monitoring systems for business-critical systems and infrastructure
- Address system outages and performance issues
- Create automation scripts to streamline tasks such as deployment and monitoring
- Collaborate with various teams to ensure reliability and scalability of new services
- Improve data transmission speed and reduce latency
- Define and measure Service Level Objectives
- Conduct postmortems to analyze incidents and suggest improvements
- Review code changes and support deployments
- Lead a team of site reliability engineers and provide mentorship
- Communicate effectively with different audiences
Requirements:
- Master's degree in computer science or related field
- Minimum of 10 years of software engineering experience
- Proven track record in managing mission-critical applications
- Experience with cloud-native applications and containerization technologies
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Deep understanding of cloud computing platforms and CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
