Position Overview

We are currently seeking a dedicated Associate Director, Accounting to oversee and enhance our accounting practices, financial analysis, and reporting functions. This role is pivotal in managing the financial close processes on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, ensuring accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the financial close processes to guarantee timely and precise completion.
  • Prepare detailed analyses, journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for specialized accounting areas, including partnership accounting and clinical trials.
  • Review and validate journal entries and reconciliations prepared by team members.
  • Collaborate with external partners for invoicing and information requests.
  • Develop and implement internal controls and policies to enhance the integrity of financial statements.
  • Conduct research on technical accounting issues and prepare comprehensive analyses to clarify accounting guidance.
  • Identify and apply best practices to improve operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate a smooth audit process.
  • Support compliance reporting, including tax returns and statutory audits.
  • Foster relationships with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Engage in special projects as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with at least 8 years of experience.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech sectors is preferred.
  • CPA certification is mandatory.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a Big 4 accounting firm is advantageous.

Essential Skills:

  • Comprehensive understanding of clinical trial processes and their financial implications.
  • Familiarity with SAP ByDesign is a plus.
  • Experience in supervising team members is desirable.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Capacity to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
