About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accounting Professional to join our Central Accounting Services (CAS) division at Universal Music Group. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of our organization by providing expert accounting and financial reporting services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the monthly financial close and reporting process, ensuring accurate and timely completion of financial statements and reports.
  • Prepare and produce accrual journal entries, financial reports, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting analytics to facilitate review of monthly close by senior finance management.
  • Reconcile intercompany accounts, confirm balances prior to final submission, and reconcile Fixed Asset and AR subledgers.
  • Analyze overhead activity on a weekly basis and post adjusting journal entries.
  • Communicate and follow up with intercompany partners to ensure that open/outstanding issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Support special projects and process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our accounting and financial reporting processes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA or MBA preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of broad general ledger accounting or corporate reporting experience, with public accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience with SAP or similar general ledger applications.
  • Strong Excel and Word skills required, with Macros experience a plus.
  • Experience with HFM preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to effectively multi-task and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Authorized to work in the US.
