Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Technical Consultant to enhance our IT support capabilities at Centre Technologies. This role is essential for addressing various IT Infrastructure technologies, with a strong focus on identifying and resolving root causes of issues.

Key Responsibilities


The primary duties of this position include:

  • Ensuring the maintenance, configuration, and dependable operation of computer systems, network infrastructure, and servers, both physical and virtual across diverse client environments.
  • Administering, implementing, and maintaining server operating systems and associated software.
  • Installing and upgrading server components and software as needed.
  • Managing virtual servers utilizing ESXi and Hyper-V hypervisors.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving software, operating system, and networking issues effectively.
  • Scheduling, executing, and monitoring system backups, and performing data recoveries when necessary.
  • Actively addressing problems and issues with computer and server systems to minimize work disruptions.
  • Managing and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Overseeing server capacity, storage planning, and database performance.
  • Establishing and implementing standards for hardware and software compatibility.
  • Providing mentorship and guidance to Tier-I Team members as required.
  • Documenting completed work promptly and enhancing existing documentation to improve team efficiencies.

Qualifications


To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on IT experience.
  • Certifications such as VMware VCP and AZ-900 or equivalent are strongly desired.
  • A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.

Expertise Required


Candidates should have expert-level administration experience with:

  • Windows 7/8/10
  • Windows Server 2008R2/2012R2/2016/2019
  • Office 365 Admin portal and Mail portal
  • Microsoft Exchange
  • Microsoft Windows Administration tools (AD Users and Computers, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy, Sites and Services, etc.)
  • VMware and Hyper-V Server Virtualization Technologies
  • Networking protocols including DHCP and DNS, as well as switching and routing.
  • Experience with Enterprise Storage solutions such as ExaGrid, Compellent, and Synology is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Hyperconverged Technology is an advantage.

Implementation and Management Experience


Experience with the following is also beneficial:

  • Microsoft Active Directory, including Azure AD
  • Citrix Technologies
  • XenServer, XenApp, XenDesktop, and Web Interface
  • Backup/DR strategies including VEEAM and Asigra

Work Environment


This position primarily operates in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazards. Occasional lifting (up to 50 pounds) may be required. Reasonable accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities/injuries to perform essential functions. The noise level in the work environment is moderate, and frequent local travel is expected.
