Ohio Transmission Corporation is seeking a Technical Sales Specialist to enhance our team.

As a Technical Sales Specialist, you will be tasked with generating sales forecasts and managing all facets of customer service within designated territories and accounts. This role involves developing and maintaining relationships with key decision-makers to influence purchasing choices and to strengthen Ohio Transmission Corporation's competitive edge. You will be recognized as a 'solutions provider' by our clients and are expected to represent Ohio Transmission Corporation and our vendor partners with professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with decision-makers in sectors such as Oil & Gas, Power, and Chemical, who are in a position to specify or procure our products and services.
  • Collaborate with rotating equipment engineers and maintenance experts to address challenges.
  • Deliver product presentations and demonstrations to elevate the understanding and awareness of our offerings among current and prospective clients.
  • Build rapport and participate in joint sales efforts with manufacturers represented by Ohio Transmission Corporation.
  • Attend and contribute to sales meetings and other corporate gatherings as necessary.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of products, processes, and the latest industry developments.
  • Safely load and secure equipment for transport.
  • Engage with customers and vendors, including after-hours, to strengthen professional relationships.
  • Provide start-up service and support as needed.
  • Conduct failure analysis of mechanical equipment and document findings.
  • Oversee equipment performance enhancement initiatives, reporting actions and outcomes in quarterly reviews.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Preferred background in engineering or technical fields, along with experience in rotating equipment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and CRM software (Selltis is a plus).
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong customer service abilities with a talent for relationship building.
  • Capable of multitasking, prioritizing, and managing time effectively.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Customer-focused approach, addressing both internal and external client needs.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM/Selltis experience preferred.
  • Comfortable with cold calling and engaging with individuals.
  • Mechanical aptitude with an understanding of rotating equipment, fabrication, and machine shop practices preferred.
  • Able to interpret industry standards and engineering specifications (API and ASME).
  • Prior experience in a plant environment is preferred.
